Hi, I'm Kate,

Beyond this, I don't much like labels. 

And because this is all about you.  Not me. 

But since we've just met, let's just say I'm a mix of practitioner, scientist, coach, guide, trainer, hypnotherapist, mentor, learner and fellow traveller on the road.


And back in my 20’s, I was a research scientist with something to prove.  I had severe perfectionist, workaholic, driven, Type A, control freak tendencies.  And as I climbed high on the corporate ladder,  I built a tower of stress along with it.  I didn't care.  I thought I was invincible.  Until, that is, the tower collapsed.  With me underneath.

Burnout hit.  I woke up one morning with half my face feeling numb.  Even half my tongue.  And the numbness spread down my arms and legs in the week to come.   I had tests galore.  No doctor could help me.  They said it was "just stress".  I was shocked at how stress was affecting my body.   And I hated myself for being so weak.  

I felt lost and alone.   Feeling more and more numb, I planned how I might kill myself before I became completely disabled.  Yet amongst all this helplessness, I found the energy to do what I do best; I researched and experimented until I found the truth about what was happening to me and why. 

Over the years, I learned how to take better care of myself and to release that numbness.  I learned how subconscious beliefs and fears had driven me to that dark place.  I leaned into my emotions & insecurities.  I rewired old patterns of thinking and feeling.  And I learned how to do stress right. To find the sweet spot. My unique balance between boost and burnout.

I started to feel at peace with myself for the first time in my life.

Then, in my late 30’s, another shock hit.  I lost my Mum.  

It sparked a huge mid-life crisis.  I realised I was trapped in a life that just wasn't "me" anymore.  So I quit my safe, successful, stressful job in the UK and we headed to France in search of sunshine and adventure. 

And it was here, in the middle-of-nowhere Gascony, that I finally found "me" and reconnected with life.  I am now in my 50's, "living the dream" with my husband, Ron and a wild bunch of rescue cats as we're slowly, but surely, renovating an ancient, stone farmhouse into a home.

And it was here I started my Brazen Mind practice to help others heal their own burnout symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression - to reconnect themselves and finally find peace within.   And I also created programs to share all the knowledge and techniques I have to help prevent such overwhelm from ever starting in the first place.
I'm brazen, honest, straight-talking, strong, practical and loving.  I believe in simple, natural solutions and fast results that last.

And when I'm not with you or building stone walls or exploring out beyond the comfortable boundaries of my life, I love immersing myself in nature; by the sea, in the mountains or in the woods around our home.  I adore the flickering light of a crackling fire in winter, singing at the top of my voice to my favourite music and connecting deeply with myself, my family, friends and strangers.

I'm not perfect.  Hope I never will be!   I quite like being a messy, imperfect human in this crazy world of ours.  And each day I'm taking another small step along the road towards even more freedom and loving helping others do the same.

I hope you'll join me on the journey.   Because this is where life starts to get really interesting ...
