![]() OK, I admit it, I didn't do any exercise yesterday apart from walking about. But today I DID do 10 minutes of interval exercise (short bursts with slower exercise in between as explained in my previous post) and am feeling rather smug about it (and a little stiff!). So my new year's resolution has survived the first day of 2013. Hurrah! We often base resolutions on things we don't like about ourselves or our lives - lose weight, get fit, change our job etc. These can be worthy goals, but while we strive for some perfect world, it's also important to be kind to ourselves and accept our lives for the way they are right now. To be content with what is. Here are some brilliant comments on doing just this from "Action for Happiness". It's quite easy to be kind to others, but so much harder to show compassion to ourselves. Harder than dieting or exercising, at times. So my toughest resolution for 2013 is to be kinder. Especially to me.
